'Under the artistic direction of Bene Arnold, Distinguished Professor of Ballet, Utah Ballet will conclude its 1998-9-9 season with an impressive reper- choreographed a new pas de deux for Utah Ballet To be danced by Jiang and Utah Ballet dancergradu-at- e student Jennie Oner-Kinthis both traditional a piece features Chillese score and folk costumes. It will embody a unique meeting of Chinese culture with classical, tory concert Bruce aidwell, currently ballet master for Ballet West, is restaging his "Serge Dances, a work choreographed for Utah Ballet in 1994. Set to an emotive score by Serge Prokofiev, "Serge Dances is athletic, exciting and transfixing. Its choreography is a contemporary interpretation of Prokofiev music using the classical ballet idiom. Ballet West principal Jiang Qi has lent "Le Corsaire Suite. American audiences are familiar with this famous work through its beautiful pas de det x made famous by the great dancer Rudolf Nureycv. However, only a portion of "Le Corsaire Suite is commonly staged in Western Europe and North America; a number of dances and selections music from the ballet are rarely experienced.
