December 18, 1998 Monday Morning County Ladies Bowliijg Attorney Hired Relief Society leaden (left to right) Margie Judd, Becky Wilde and Fern Dent are thrilled with the goal reached that of making 100 quilts for the Humaaitariaa Aid Center. Labor of Love - A True Christmas Story At the beginning of 1998, the Hoytsville First Ward Relief Society decided to make quilts for the sort called center. the (Now Humanitarian Aid Center). Other areas had done projects such as this with successful results in reaching their goals. Although the ward is relatively small, a goal of 100 quilts was set, figuring that if each family comgoal would be pleted one quilt-th- e reached. Through a gradual process, the quilts were turned in a few at a time, to be viewed in Relief Society, becoming a reminder to others to keep working on theirs. By the end of November; 80 quilts had been completed, and it was announced that they would be put on display in the Cultural Hall on Sunday Dec. 6, with the quilts scheduled to be delivered on Dec. 11. The plan was to continuing ac- cepting the quilts until the big day strived. Although several quilts filtered in, the need still stood at 10. On Dec. 10, the day of the RS Christinas party, a new ward member called and said she had 10 quilta-w- ai it too late to hand them in? The goal was reached! It was thrilling to think of all the hours and love spent making them. There were 26 receiving blankets, 15 afghana, a few blankets with the rest being large and small quilts. Those in charge of the project are very proud and appreciative of all those who participated so willingly to help reach the goal of having 100 blankets. They sre certain to be a welcome additional to those who are the lucky recipients-wberevthey may be. Thanks to all for a heartwarming message at Christmas. . - - 166 -- 165 458 (62).
