We have started of activithe year with some the students. ties to North Summit High has great stu- dent leaders in which the PTSA honored with a leadership dinner which was held the evening before school wu scheduled to begin. This was the third annual PTSA leadership dinner to our students. We feel it has been a very positive experience and success again this year. It wu evening that our student leaders, administration and PTSA council could get to know each other a little better. First on the agenda that evening wu the introduction of our new Principal Steve Carlson and his wife Grace. We are looking forward to working with Principal Carlson in this calling u a PTSA board. Our student leaders introduced themselves and what leadership position they will be holding this coining yean h A buffet dinner wu served, the PTSA had a delightful guest speaker, Gena Black, who gave a presentation on leadership. Everyone seemed to have an enjoyable evening. The PTSA also sponsored the Hello Dance on Friday, Aug. 28, after the first Vkrsity home football "game of the season. All students who attended the dance became PTSA members with their admittance. There wu a great turn out The PTSA saved the students cookies, punch and had door prizes which woe drawn every 15 minutes to 3 lucky PTSA student members through out the evening. The Beat of Time provided the music and videos. Wb were delighted to have Principal Carlson in attendance to' the dsnee. He bu been a great supactivities port in all of the schools ' ' and functions. The North Summit volleyball team boarded the bus on Thursday, Sept 3, to the long ride to Gunnison. They came off the bus pumped and ready to conquer the Lady Bulldogs. Great serves and teamwork led to their first win of 15--3. The Lady Bulldogs came back in die second game, but couldtough fought back hard, outscoringthe beat the Lady Braves' gnat n't Braves 10-1forcing the Lady defense. Braves into a third game. The Lady ' The Braves pulled off soother win, Braves fought hard as a team, but the final scon being 15-beating couldn't pull off another win. North Summit fought with all the energy they had left, but Duchesne must have had a little more. North Summit lost the final game 1 5 to 3. This didnt lower our confidence any because on Thursday, Sept 3 we fought with skills and confidence. After what seemed like an endless bus ride to Gunnison, the Lady Braves were ready to defeat the after-whic- Lady Eagles. Leading the way with their awesome serves die Lady Braves were off to a great start Through great bumps, sets, and spikes, die Lady Braves kept their serves. Having great teamwork really paid off because they won the match in two games, the final scores being 15 to 11 and 15 to 3 to the Lady Braves. Spirit Stick Rivalry STUDENT WRITER! Both Duchesne and North Summit teams started off the game on Tuesday, Sept. 1, with a boom. North Summit did this by getting awesome serves and even better Hospitslity, to the .students, which messages will be in the high school hallway very soon. The PTSA would like to thank Mrs. Jaussi helping us to get this nice addition to our school. Our next big event that the PTSA to will be involved in is the Homecoming dinner which will be served in the high school cafeteria on game day at 6 p.m..
