The first game Grantsville attacked North Summit with vigor and energy. The scoring was tight but proudly the Lady Braves pulled for a The .win with the seme of second game didn't hold much of a challenge, and Grantsville wasn't coming at North Summit like they were before. North Summit stood to their guns, playing as tough as the game before. Please come out and support our team! 3, 0. North Summit's JV team lost the game to Duchesne on Thursday, Oct 17. The score was thirty-si- x to six. It was a very disappointing loss considering that Duchesne is only a 1A school, but the outcome may have been different if the Brave's home crowd would have been there cheering them on. ' Kevin Louder replaced Justin Pace for most of the game, because he was injured in the first quarter. He made a pass to Banner Robinson who ran in die touchdown for the Braves only score. i Lions Eagles Take Charge .The North Summit Varsity foot-- , ball team on the night of Oct 17 made the long trek to Millard. This was the Millard Eagles last home game and they were pumped. In the first quarter, the Eagles kicked a field goal to make the beginning of the game 3 to 0. The Braves started out strong in the third quarter until Chris Witt in- jured his knee, The Braves were fumbling the ball and giving it away to the Eagles. It was like a new team was playing against Millard in the second half. The final score of the night was North Summit 6 and Millard 23. North Summit traveled to IMS for a game on the night of Oct 18. Varsity was playing for the best out of five games. In the first game the IMS Lions surprised the Lady Braves and the game was over in a hurry with the Lions taking the win. The Lady Braves won one match but not enough to win the series. Despite their loss they did play well. Camie Sargeant had 87 sets with two errors, and Brians Wilde had 12 kills. Now the Lady Braves are concentrating on the Region tournaments with high hopes to make it to State. non-regi- sion with imminent journalists at the National Press Club. Scholars will visit foreign embassies and receive policy briefings from senior government officials. Deidra may also meet with her Senators and Representative or an appointed member of their staff to discuss important issues taring Coaivilie and the nation. To complement these special meetings and briefings, Deidra will participate in a number of leadership skill building activities. Culminating the National Young Leaders Conference is the "Model Congmt", in which Scholars assume the roles of United States Representatives by debating, amending and voting on proposed legislation for an official language and immigration reform. The National Young Leaders Conference is sponsored by the Congressional Youth Leadership Council, a nonprofit, nonpartisan educational organization. The National Young Leaders Conference is a unique leadership development program for high school students who have demonstrated leadership potential and scholastic merit. Deidra, a Junior at North Summit High School will be among 350 outstanding National Scholars attending the conference from across America. "The conference provides the opportunity for students, like Deidra, to distinguish themselves as tomorrow's leaders," said John Hines, six-da- Executive Council Director. "Scholars not only gain knowledge and experience in the nation's capital, they leave with a sense of accomplishment and an increased ability to face the challenges of die future." . Deidra participates in Varsity Volleyball, Varsity Basketball and Track. She is a senior Girl Scout Her interests are math and engineering. She hopes to attend the University of Utah.
