The beautiful white and purple satin backdrop was sewn by Denise Pace and Kathleen Pace with 60 mum plants arranged in an N.S. on either side of the graduates, arranged for by secretary Julie Black. Following the Processional, Terri Wilde, senior class president, led the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by the Welcome Address given by Principal Earl (Sam) Blonquist. "I want to thank everyone who helped in anyway to prepare for Second Grade Shutterbugs tonight's event," said Principal Blonquist, especially class leaders, Nichole Pace and Jesse Haws, who were in charge. "It takes many to plan and prepare for a large undertaking of this nature, and I appreciate all the cooperation and help given, said Blonquist "Each graduate has overcome obstacles and made strides in excellence," said Salutatorian Tanya Deaden. "We have worked together, cried together, laughed together, and together we will try again as we move on to separate places with separate goals, with different ideas of success. Moving into a world that seems unexplored, exciting, and full of surprises. All of us can and will find happiness, all it takes is faith in ourselves, with a boundary placed only as high and as large as it is perceived to be. We can learn from our mistakes and move on in life following a statement made by Confusius: "Our greatest glory is not in ever failing, but rising every time we fall." "Experiencing trials in life, lets us enjoy benefits hoped for, realizing that efforts is no effort without shortcomings. It takes ordinary people to do extraordinary things. We need to stay optimistic, blind ourselves to obstacles, trust intuition - Be courageous and work for what you want in life. Concepts included identifying beautiful things in our world and notic- ing things that need to be improved; reuse and recycle lessons; getting to know your camera and pointers on taking successful pictures. Rodeo Club Annual Rodeo Did any of you happen to notice all the trucks and horse trailers in town Friday and Saturday? Who would want to rodeo in this weather? Well over 1,200 entrants from all over the state of Utah did, and they came to compete no matter what the weather or arena conditions. The North Summit Rodeo Club held their annual rodeo and felt the results was a great success. They would like to thank the local sponsors for their help. When North Summit Elementary second grade teacher, Mrs. Ericksen, asks her students to "get into" their books, she really means it Monday, May 15, her class had a storybook character dress-u- p day. Everyone was to choose a favorite book and become one of the characters. They dressed up and were able to tell about the book they came from.
