Show Friday, October 21, 1994 Summit On Thursday, Oct. 13, the South Summit High School held their ESS BSA Merit own fabulous Annual Fashion Show and Lip Sync assembly. The Badge Pamphlets Available show was hosted by boys chairman, Joe Frazier, and girls chairman, Nicole Mitchell. Points were given to each class for originality and quality toward the class Homecoming competition. Each class came out modeling their impression of famous person alities. The show started off with O.J. Simpson and Marsha Clark. Each of the classes then followed with their impressions of Bill and Hillary Clinton, Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Jackson, and Tom and Roseanne Arnold. After eaph class finished modeling, all of the models came out for a final bow. Those who participated from the freshman class were Chris Miles, Wade Cooper, Maleia Littledike, Studentbody Votes in Homecoming Royalty On Tuesday, Oct. 11, the South Summit studentbody voted in as Homecoming King and Queen, Jake Aplanalp and Sarah White. All students were involved in the voting for the finalists for Homecoming King and queen, and their attendants, The finalists were Jodie Mitchell, Emily Evans, Natalie Paul, Olivia McNeil, Brandi Gordon, Sarah White, Nicole Mitchell, Tanya Woolstenhulme, Kelli Kirkham, Amos Crystal, Jasin Leavitt, In an effort to improve the Scouting program in the Kamas area, the Scouts from Troop 775, sponsored by the Rhodes Valley LDS Ward, purchased Merit badge pamphlets and donated them to the Summit County Library in Kamas. The Scouts went to local businesses and asked for donations to help in purchasing the pamphlets. They would like to thank the following businesses for their Top Co-o- p, Store, Country Side Barber, Oakley Polar King, High Mountain Properties, O Driscoll Construction, and Knot People. A big congratulations goes out to the 1994. Horse Show Finalists. They first competed in two Summit County Horse Shows: one in Oakley, and one in Coalville. The points from both shows totaled determined the six high point winners in all three age 4-- H 4-- H 9-- 1 1: Kolt Leifson, Linsey Bishop, Shelby., Atkinson,' Lacey Potter, Kirby Woodard, and Jade Atkinson; Kristal Richins, Andy 12-1- 3: Wools tenhulme, Lynsi Jeffs, Jenny Hortin, Shami Anderson, and Lacy Aimee Meadows, Bionquist; Enough money was contributed to purchase every current Merit badge pamphlet plus duplicates of the required and more popular Merit badges. Extra events included two handed snaffle Pleasure and two handed snaffle reining. The second day were the speed events: barrel racing, pole bending, and quadwrangle stake race. The participants from Summit County did a fantastic job and really showed FBLA sold colored, plastic ducks for fifty cents apiece. The ducks had numbers on them to identify the contestants. The first three ducks to niors, 14-- 8, which ended Homecoming Week with a bang. The Powder Puff game has always been one of the exciting events at South Summit High. The girls from both the senior and junior classes spent the week preparing for the big game, learning play patterns, running the ball, catching the ball, and blocking. They spent every night during the week practicing and getting fired up for the final showdown. The game was off to an exciting start with the juniors scoring the first touchdown in the first quarter. Each couple running for the position performed for the studentbody and all of the skits were very enjoyable to watch. In the end, the studentbody voted in as king, Jake Aplanalp, queen, Hallam, Emily Evans, Andy Atkinson, Hollie Walker, Reed Milliner, BAndra McAffee, Jodi Mitchell, Amos Crystal, Karl Stevens, Tony Sagers, Wayne Mildon, and Steve Isakson. The seniors won this portion of the competition; the juniors took second; sophomores third, and freshmen last. The fashion show was based on costume, grace, thusiasm, and en- couple compatibility. The second quarter ended rather quickly due to an injury suffered by Brittani Gordon. The third quarter seemed to favor the seniors who scored a touchdown plus an extra two points, giving the seniors a lead over the juniors. In the final ten minutes of the game, the juniors scored yet another touchdown, leaving the score at 14 to 8. Congratulations to the juniors. The Lip Sync wts judged on originality, enthusiasm, costume, and music selection. The freshmen took first, juniors were second, sophomores third, and seniors ended up in last place. All of the participants did a very good job, and we would like to thank all of them for participating.
