She reminded everyone of the Christmas dinner for the Seniors at the High Country Inn in Heber City. She asked for them to check on their rides. Our Christmas tree was decorated and looks beautiful thanks to Alton Grotepas and those who helped. For dinner, we were served spaghetti and meatballs, tossed green salad, garlic bread, and ice cream with strawberry topping. There were 43 Seniors who ate dinner and who enjoyed the day with us. Dec. 3: It was a sunny day for the Seniors but really frosty. Edna conducted and excused Irma and Elaine Atkinson. They had caught the flu bug. Edna thanked those who furnished the Seniors with rides to Heber City. We really appreciate those who go the extra mile. For dinner, we were served vegetable beef soup, crackers, fruit salad, delicious scones, and birthday cake. We sang happy birthday to Thelma Butters and a belated one to Donna Miles, Karen Simpson, Betty Wilde, and Sandra Atkinson. Thelma's daughters brought a beautiful birthday cake for their mother. She shared it with everyone. It was another lovely day for all of us. "The frustrating thing is that the key to success doesn't always fit your ignition." The message is from President Ezra Taft Benson, world leader of the Church, and his counselors, President Gordon B. Hinckley and President Thomas S. Monson. The message: At this holy time of the year, we extend our love and a special greeting to people everywhere. We join in commemorating the birth of Jesus of Nazareth whom we honor and worship as the Savior of us all Reflect with us on the marvelous events that accompanied his tilth: on the angel who announced to the shepherds in' the field, "I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all people (Luke 2:10); on the heavenly hosts who were heard praising God and declaring, "Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward men" (Luke 2:14), and cm the wise men who later came saying, "We have seen his star in the east and are come to worship him" (Matthew 2:2). The reason for such warmth of emotion is the spirit of Him whose birth we celebrate. He came to earth as the Son of God, the Prince of Peace. To the degree that we have blended His gospel into our lives we have partaken of the peace which He came to bring. We recognize that there are those fra whom this special season passes virtually unnoticed because of their unrelenting suffering from war, hunger, and other afflictions.
