Jones, son of Steven R. and Linda Jones, of Kamas, is currently aboard the guided missile cruiser USS Jouett, homeported in San Diego, and is demidway through a ployment to the Persian Gulf. six-mon- th Jones participated in numerous exercises designed to challenge the mission readiness of the ship and crew, including Operation Southern Watch in support of the "no-flzone over southern Iraq. The ship has also been serving as the anti-ai- r warfare commander for the aircraft carrier USS Ranger battle group in the Persian Gulf and has provided technical assistance for smaller combatants in the area. y" Kelsie Ann Oliver Quinn and Casie (Woolsey) Oliver, of Henefer, are proud to announce the birth of their first child, a beautiful, blue eyed, blonde haired baby girl bom on Saturday, Nov. 28 at 4:59 a.m. at St. Benedict's Birthing Center in Ogden. She weighed 7 lbs. 9 ozs. and was 19 inches tall. She will be named Kelsie Ann Oliver. Excited and proud grandparents are Gregory and Elsie Oliver, of Henefer. The horse, Special "K", is a registered Arabian, bay in color, 16 hands high and is sound. He has been professionally trained and shown in both California and Utah show rings. Applications are available at the office in Coalville or from community 'er 4-- H 4-- H horse club leaders. You must meet the following requirements to be eligible to fill out an application: 1. Must have been enrolled in any phase of 4-- H in Summit County for the 1992 year, 2. Must be a current Summit County resident; 3. Must be age, 9 on Jan. 1, 1992. If you meet the above requirements, you may fill out an application for the horse. Applications must be're turned to our office in Coalville by Dec. 18 before 5 and p.m. Signatures of both their parents are required before the application will be considered valid. She was a 1980 graduate of North Summit. She graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Kappa Phi from Utah State University in 1984, earning degrees in Economics and Marketing. After working several years in Hawaii, Callie and her husband moved to California so that she could attend Pepperdine University School Law in Malibu. While at Pepperdine, Callie was one of four second year students se- lected to the Moot Court honor board, and in her third year, served as the executive chairperson of all ABA competitions. As a member of Moot Court, she participated in and won several cominfra-scho- ol petitions and represented Pepperdine at both the state and national levels. She placed second in the national negotiating competition and became a in the state's trial advocacy tournament after presenting several full criminal trials before California Appellate Court semi-finali- st judges. In her third year of law school, she taught advanced computerized legal research to over three hundred first year students and was the first law student to ever be selected as a Pepperdine research instructor. She was on the Dean's Honor List and received the Dean's Scholarship (full tuition) all three years that she attended Pepperdine. Callie received her juris doctorate graduating Cum Laude, in May of this year.
