Dear Editor: A news release from Commercial Security Bank was published recently in the Summit The Bee receives a newsletter of Short Takes from the publishers of National Wildlife, International Wildlife and Ranger Rick magazine. It is a mixture of short subjects on nature andor wildlife. The following comes from the Volume 5, No. 3 newsletter. Every dog has its day. And winter is the time for Sirius, the Dog Star." According to Ranger Rick magazine, Sirus is one of the stars closest to earth, making it the brightest in the winter sky. It's also hotter and bigger than any of the other close stars. Sirius is part of the constellation called the Big Dog," or Canis Major. Both are visible from Nov. until mid May. When the rains come to the southern Arizona desert, each year, spadefoot toads emerge from below the ground. According to National Wildlife magazine, these desert toads mate at night and lay their eggs near pools of water. As the water begins to recede, the tadpoles hatch and mature. The spadefoot toads then resort to voluntary burial. There they will remain, buried alive, until new rains come to the desert the following year. Legend has it that before a swan dies, it sings a beautiful fa well. And in the case of North America's tundra swan, the legend may be true. From the number of people who have called there is a Basically, this is what has , happened with CSB, because it is a well run bank, someone else has recognized this and offered to pay the shareholders double the value of their shares, $30 to $60. We are looking forward to being able to offer new programs to our customers. Summit County should benefit more than any other area because Key Corps, marketing is aimed towards consumers, small businesses and municipalities. We would be glad to answer any questions if anyone wants to need for additional clarification. The news release mentions that only troubled banks could be purchased by outside banks before Jan. 1, 1988. This is exactly why there has only been an Agreement to Purchase signed at this time, not the actual sale, which will be after Jan. 1, 1988. Commercial Security Bank has been and will continue to be one of the strongest financial institutions in Utah. They have been one of the few banks allowed to bid on other failed banks because of their strength. U.S.D.A. Surplus Commodities are again available.
