We learned the names of oiir secret sisters" and enjoyed a delicious meal served ' by the hostess. Following the dinner we were instructed in the art of making pomander balls by the hostess. After several attempts each of us came home with our own iner dividualized and personally made pomander. This is an old craft and we enjoyed learning it at Karrie' s capable hands. This has been one of the many things that we have enjoyed doing in our monthly meetings and each meeting has diversity for everyone. Those present were Mrs. Jane Casper, Mrs. Lynette Moody, Mrs. Nancy Hutchinson, Mrs. Betty Dahlin and we welcomed back our summer member, Mrs. Ethie Tryon from Arizona, as well as the hostess. Our next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Martha Polichetti in May. Betty Dahlin K Makes Cents by VI Blake Today I'm going to give you a dozen or so ideas for families with small Dear Readers: children. Keep a muffin tin in the refrigerator for storing small jars of baby food. A three-cu- p egg poach er is handy for warming several different kinds of baby food at the same time. You also save extra dish washing by feeding baby directly from the cups. For a small child's birthday, decorate the cake with small, inexpensive toys instead of candles. The children will be delighted, especially when each little guest gets to take one home as a gift. Ask hardware your dealer for empty nail kegs. Paint and decorate them, add a cover, and use them in the nursery for hampers, stools, waste baskets, or containers for small toys. Two children, one bedroom? If you have bunk beds, consider using them as partitions so that each child can have partial privacy. Line one side of the lower bunk with plywood. In the same manner, on the other side, close oft the space between the upper bunk and the ceiling. Decorate the new "walls as desired. So that gatqea don't get lost or damaged, remove them from the original boxes. Shellac the bonds to keep them new. Keep; the parts of each game, along with diree Her colored plastic lids from milk jugs. If these are too large for your particular board, you might want to cut circular disks from an old broom handle. With little effort, these can be sanded and painted red and black Tor checker re- are great-grandparen- ts Frank and Alice Casper of Salt Lake City, Utah and Rhea and Parley Wilde of Oakley, Utah. This event was enjoyed by over 100 children who scrambled to find their share of the 500 eggs that had been hidden. A week long search was also conducted to find the mystery eggs which contained a 55.00 reward. Cues were posted daily to help direct those who were Henefer-Ech- o tions, in separate plastic or cloth pull bags. Store all games together, boards stack ed, on a shelf or in a box on rollers under the bed. If some of the checkers from your game are lost, substitute Victoria Naomi Knight celebrated her first birthday on April 4, 1987. Everyone was there to help her celebrate. Her mommy and daddy are Allen and Sonja Knight of Oakley, Utah. She has a big sister and two brothers. Her grandparents are Donald and Wilma Knight of Midway, Utah, and Sheldon and Sandra Wilde of Oakley, Utah. hunting these two eggs. One of the eggs was found in Henefer by Bryan Richins. the son of Scott and Marie Richins. The other was found in Echo by Benjamin Irene, the son of Don and Cathie Irene. The Lions Club would like to thank those who boiled and colored the eggs along with all others who helped to make this a successful activity. The Wanship Ward Choir and The Holy City" on Sunday, April 26, 1987 at 7:30 p.m. in the Wanship Ward Chapel. This oratorio was written by A. R. Gaul in the late 19th century and the Prologue, which will be featured this year by the choir, was added in 1901. The treatment of die subject of this work is almost entirely reflective, the more dramatic parts of the book from which many of th numbers are taken, viz., the Vision of St. John, having already been treated in so masterly a manner by the great German composer, Louis Sphor, in his Oratorio, Judgment". The first part of the The Hedy was suggested by the City Here passages of scripture, have we no continuing city," Thy Kingdom Come", and sets forth the desire for a higher life, as expressed in the words, My soul is athirst for God," which desire is followed by other passages expressive of the perfection of the higher life, such as Eye hath not seen". The second part was suggested by the words, I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away," thus realizing the desire and promises confined in the first part. With the exception of two hymns, a verse from John Milton, and three verses from the Te Deum. the words are entirely scriptural. Soloists for this program will - PARK CITY -6- childhood.
