The Woodland Ward Young Women took a trip down to Salt Lake on Wednesday to see the Christmas lights on Temple Square. They also visited one of the malls in Salt Lake and had Moon decided that the best thing to do was just to wait her out. After about ten minutes the moose decided that she was tired of the whole thing and turned and walked away, no damage to the,car, mail or carrier thank goodness., ahl life in Kamas valley in the winter. The Kamas 1 Ward Relief Society held their Christmas party on December 18 at the church. Dinner was served and a program was put on by a group from the Francis Ward, including Lola Lambert. There were 12 different tables all decorated as a different holiday. This was the theme of the party. The ladies exchanged gifts and all in all had a great time. The Kamas I Ward Relief Society Presidency would like to thank everyone who helped make the party a success, and especially the young girls who helped serve. So happy that Clara Mitchell is home from the hospital for the holidays, also her birthday which is December 25, happy holidays to you Till. The Rhodes Valley Ward held their annual Christmas party on Thursday Dec. 19 at 7:00 at the Stake House. It was a delight. They had the old fashioned Christmas program put on by the Primary with all the children in ' Blanche and Reid Smithies returned home from St. George for the holidays. After spending some time in Las Vegas, they came home to see their family. The Smithies will be rerturning to St. George after New Years. My goodness did Shawn Moon ever have an exciting day last Wednesday as delivering the mail to the area she something in the road, it was a calf, cow or le drew closer and saw that it was not a calf but a baby moose. But by that time, it was to late to even think as mama moose appeared on the scene. ' Man, was she mad. Moon threw ' ;the car into reverse and attempted to back down the snowy, key road, mother moose was u hot pursuit. Finally the moose got Shawn where she wanted the car to be. By that time she was nearly on the hood. The mother waited around for a while then meandered back to where the calf was and they wandered away from the road. Joseph and Baby Jesus, bad little boys, getting nothing for Christmas, carolers, the Christmas tree and a wonderful grandmother, Mrs. Gwen Fitzgerald telling the story of Christmas. There was popcorn children ready to hang popcorn on the tree and Marvin Lewis as narator, doing a fine job. Santa arrived on time and a happy evening was had by all vwho . attended. Edna and Guy Fitzgerald attended the Christmas program in Hoytsville so that they could see their great grandchildren perform. They also enjoyed the potluck supper that was served. Kamas 2 Ward were treated to a double Christmas program on Sunday December 22nd. The Sunday School did a delightful program on the true spirit of Christmas. The youth were the speakers and the Primary children sang carols. This was followed by the Kamas 2 Ward Choir presenting an all carol program. It was a refreshing change of all the old Christmas favorites sang with love. Bro. Farcus of the High Council attended also. Kamas 1st Ward did a very fine job of presenting a lovely Christmas sacrament service put on by the choir. It was enjoyed by all. Kory and Taunia (Cattelan) Melvin and Shirley Chappell of Staples.
