On Thursday Oct. 31st, the North Summit Middle School held a carnival for its students. It was fun and educational too. Events scheduled for school participation in the American Cancer Society's ninth annual "Great American Smokeout on Thursday, Nov. 21, will be the third annual "Balloon Release at the North Summit Elementary School at 1:00 p.m., and a film to be shown to the middle and high school students in the high school auditorium at 1:15 p.m. The children enjoy writing and "ballooning the quit smoking messages, and responses have come back to them from many states where people have found the balloons. The film is entitled "Going Smokeless and is an excellent account of what did happen to a young man who did not smoke, but who did "dip, a growing concern among our young school children and adults.
