Is it ever going to clear up and be warmer and dryer? This topic is very much like my old winter coat, prrttv well worn out by now. but again like that old coat. 1 can't do much about it. so just have to keep it around for awhile. The qnillcrx. Hard Hall. Yrrnicce Clark. Mae Pace. Wien Robinson and F.lhel l.owham finished the beautiful red and w hitc queen sire quilt, and held it up for display. It was a very pretty design and there was a lot of quilting on it. It certainly is a beautiful finished article, which the lady quilters can be justly proud. President Ball called the group to attention at noon time, and praxcr was offered by lonnie Jacobsen, after which a delicious ' dinner of roast beef, mashed poiatocs and gravy, green peas, rolls, cottage cheese and fruit salad, ice cream cake roll and choice of beverages was served. A short business meeting was held after dinner. Minutes of the preuHis meetings were presented and approved by the group, upon the presentation of Secretary Ruth Tailor. Amy Shaw reported on the plans for the Flko Trip. There will be a bus load to make the trip, and the plans arc lo be finalized by the end of this week. We are eagerly looking forward to this first trip of the ear. and hope there will be more of them to come. Ball read the President :r.vi:ation extended to the members of the Club to attend the Open House in honor of Beth Fawcett's 80th birthday at the i .If j . . afternoon. Friday morning wax another rather cool, damp day. but we had J2 persons who dared the elements lo pul out anything we couldn't handle. Our two cooks: Sharon Clark accompanied her husband to the hospital for his regular clieck up. ami Beverly Mair is in the St. Benedict'. Sunday May dth. Leah Morbv thanked evenone for the cards and phone calls she had received during her recent stay in the hospital. Welcome back. Leah. We do hope more of the members will be able to visit the Club soon, many of whom have been ill and several who have been ?.. warmer areas during the winter. The usual card games, pool 'playing, visiting and hand work a as enjoyed during the rest of the j. j. . pickles and glazed doughnuts, and beverages, and NO ANTS, which was served to .10 members. Lillian Robinson collected the (ood lX'eds list. At noon time President Hall called the group lo attention and had Reed Moore offer the prayer, prior to the serving of the food. A very short meeting was held after lunch. Amy' Shaw reminded us of the dale and time of the F.lko trip, and that she was going to Salt Lake City today to make final arrangements for the bus tickets. President "Mick" related a talc of intrigue which he had experienced the past week. Some GOOD OLD PALS of his called his attrition to a lovely lady sitting in a car'tm Mick's route to his job at the Sanitary Sewer Plant. He noted her thi his wav past the car. and on his ncxbmp he even waved to her. She wafgnoring him.' or playing hard to get.. so his PALS thought Mick should maybe speak to her and see if she was ngeding help with the car. This sounded like a good idea so he approached the car and spoke to her - only to find a very lovely mannequin waiting for him. He says he has never been so embarrased in his life, to think he had fallen for his GOOD PALS joke. Remember Mick, boys will be boys, at any age. My son said the other day, "Mom. you should start driving defensively - you know the other fellow might not drive .any better than you do." Bye for now Hennek . ; r . - : Areas and .
