The snow shovels had a work-ou- t. It did not keep everyone at home, as it was the day to receive the cheese and butter, so we had many mote members stay for dinner. A delicious meatloaf was served with baking powder plenty of butter and janj potatoe salad, mixed vegetables; and the meal was topped off with cherry pie .with ice cream. ' "Happy Birthday was sung to Rex Gines and Thelma Butters. We extend birthday greetings to Hilda Thacher. Walter Daniels played the piano, while we were enjoying our usual activities. We always welcome Walt to play for e us (we enjoy all the ' and favorites), they bring back happy memories. Winter has just begun, and we are breaking records with cold and snow st this time of the year. With the snow, Christmas parades on T.V., and Christmas songs, we should be getting the .Christmas spirit.". It is the time when everyone is transformed into a more friendly and joyful person, full of good wishes. Monday, we had a surprise for dinner... hot scones with honey. Also, we enjoyed a ham & cheese casserole, peas, apple jello salad, pears, and cookies, After eating three and four hot scones, we were but what a joy it was them. The cooks are busy planning, also. glistening snow covers the fields and highways. Trees are wearing their white glittering coats and childrens thoughts are getting centered on Christmas and Santa Claus. We, the Senior Citizens are much like the dear children, only we are a few years older. We love all the beautiful things and try to enjoy all the gifts God has given us. As Christmas will soon be upon us, .we think it is time to write our annual letter to Santa Claus, so... w t-- s ber those who have been out of work in our community and in the nation.
