Braves track teams Spelling Bee Here at the North Summit Middle School, we are very proud of one of our seventh grade students. She is JoAnne Osborn, daughter of Joyce and Bud Osborn of Rockport. Utah. Recently. JoAnne participated in the Deseret News Spelling Bee in Salt Lake. JoAnne placed 6th, which we think is great because almost every district in the state had a representative. JoAnne won the honor of representing our district at the North Summit District Meet, where she competed against two students from each grade level Sth through 8th. Congratulations JoAnne! Jennifer Wilde, Joni Jenkins and Kristy O'Brien & Faculty Piano recital held at Middle School The Sth and fith grade students of the North Summit Middle School presented to the public a piano recital Thursday. May 8. under the direction of Jim Marsh, Carol Joy Blonquist and Ruby Stokes. Students, both boys and girls, have been learning all about music and learning a few fun tunes on the new electric pianos at school. hour These classes are for everv other dav. Many of the one-ha- lf Doug Garfield students have never had the opportunity to play except in class. There were over 50 students in the recital. Two students, Kham Sue X and True X. learned their pieces bv having the teacher color in the notes and then the same color was put on the piano key. Both of these students did an excellent job. Their parents, along with the rest of the parents, were very proud of these students. Third Grade field trip Region Champions 2nd place in State The 3rd grade classes of the North Summit Grade School went on their field trip Friday. May 9. Their teachers.
