New assessor to get training Shirl Nichols, who was to the office of Juab County Assessor in the November General Election, will start early in order to be eligible to attend an assessors training conference during the month of December. (Norman Anderson is retiring from the position). Juab County Commissioners agreed to deputize Shirl Nichols as the county assessor for the period December 1st until his swearing in at the first of January. This will be done without except for the costs of travel, school and housing expenses when he attends the elected conference. Commissioners agreed that the expenses of the schooling should come out of Norman Andersons (present assessor) budget. The schooling is expected to bring Nichols up to speed and he will be ready just to step into the job at the first of the year 1999. |
