They did this as part of their Councilmember June McNulty to try and find a way to bring Natural Gas to Eureka. They would like to see the project move along, but the next step would be to complete a feasibility study. In order for them to do that they would need the city to sign the General Engineering Agreement, and two work release agreements.. Work Release 1 on Feasibility Study and Work Release 2 to Secure Financing. They prepared some visuals to help explain the process and everything involved with the feasibility study. The cost of the study would be $30,000. They tried to be as conservative as possible using the average numbers of people in Eureka. "Many of our people shop in Utah County and having toll-frcalling to their merchants should help their county by bringing in sales tax." Seely was also assigned to see if the prefix 433, the telephone prefix for Eureka, could be added. "We should see if all of Juab County could be i nclud-ed- ," said Joseph Bernini, commission chair and a resident of Eureka. making a push to get telephone service for residents located south of Levan.. some of whom do not even have any hard wire telephone service at this time. The costs of calls for everyone in Juab County are burdensome. The financial benefits of the telephone toll-frexpansion would be a benefit to residents of the county. At present, said Wm. Boyd Howarth, commissioner, only the east part of Juab County was included in the proposal. "Our docket number includes the service for Nephi to Goshen, Payson, Provo, Orem, Salem, Santaquin, Spanish Fork, and Springville Exchanges." Howarth said it would make sense to include Eureka in the expanded service. Eureka, located in west Juab County, has toll-frcalling to East Juab County but not to Utah County. (Wrong!) Eureka has toll-frcalling only to Mammoth and Tintic Junction, located within a five-miradius of Eureka. also Commissioners are pose problems ee . ee ee le West Jordan youth paint house Ward Youth Conference. For their stay in Eureka, they were able to do some sight seeing and participated in many planned activities at the City Park where they stayed in tents. They were also allowed to take showers at the high school, thanks to the generosity of Gordon Grimstead. They were impressed by the beautiful city of Eureka and greatly appreciated the hospitality shown them by townspeople arid leaders. Members of the Mountain Shadows 4th Ward Youth Group included Michael and Deborah Sanderson and children (Frances daughter and and grandchildren). Frances really enjoyed the youth being at her home and hated to see them leave. She would like to give a great big thanks to this fine youth group for such a wonderful act of service. son-in-la-w, long-distan- ce ee Complaints are increasing about animal control.
