She was born March 3. 1917 in Payson, Utah, a daughter of Eustace and Sarah Survina Shepard Mendenhall, the youngest of nine children. She married George Welton Hendrickson December 29, 1933. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He died August 13, 1980. Jean had lived in Payson, Eureka, Elsinore and Provo, Utah. Over the years, she has held many positions of responsibility in the LDS Church. She retired from BYU after many years of service. Jean enjoyed beautiful handiwork, doing especially needlepoint pictures which are works of art. She has knitted many baby shawls for grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jeans greatest pleasure was playing bridge after lunch with friends. Surviving are three sons: G. Kent (Loma) Hendrickson of St. George; Blaine E. (Sharon) Hendrickson of Laguna Hills, California; and Boyd W.
