After routine business was taken care of. several other matters were discussed. Since members are thinking of the Veterans and their families at this time, they had several lap robes on display. District had sent some patterns for some of the things veterans need, such as comfort hags, wheel chair pockets und bibs that can be made from towels or toweling. Several comfort bags were made and will be filled by members, with items that are needed by the veterans. Money will he sent from the Unit to help pay for wrapping paper and such. Members were brought up lo date on what is being done on the Veterans Album. Plans were made for the Annual Christmas Parly, which will lie held on December 9th. Exchange gifts of $5.(X); white elephants for card game; each member to bring their own dishes. After the meeting, refreshments were served by Clco Judge. Each student played a starring role in the performance by narrating a part or being spotlighted for a song. All of the students did a super job. We especially appreciated the parental and student support. Our next public performance will he at 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 27, 1996 in the Music Room. Cody latird, and Arthur Cornish. After reviewing Greg ('aider's council members application, agreed to table it for 30 days until the fire chief could meet with the applicant to find out more about him. Arthur Cornish's application was reviewed. This is the second time Cornish has applcd for membership. The first time (he council voted in favor of allowing him into the Department as long as he provided a letter from his doctor releasing him to do the work required of all firemen. Cornish did not provide a letter and was never sworn in as a member. Cornish recently asked (o reconsidered for membership and provided a short note from his doctor. However, the councilmcn felt (hat a letter from his doctor Cornishs condition, slating would he more in order (hat just a short note written on a pre scription form. They would like to know what his limitations are.. if any. Councilman Jay Evans made the motion lo again table Cornish's application pending receipt of a full letter including a statement of liealib. from his doctor.
