Rife A regular meeting of the West Juab Senior Citizens was held on Wednesday, September 20, at the Memorial Building, and was under the direction of President Leah Towers. Invocation was offered by Martin Fennell, and was followed by group participation in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Mabel Butler provided the accompaniment for the group to sing "God Bless America". The serving committee consisting of Tarsula Lucas, Max and Afton Berry, prepared and served a delicious luncheon for the 25 members in attendance. Reported on the Sick List were: Pat Brady, Anna Franks, Earlean Gear, Les and Virginia Randle. We wish these members our best. Due to illness, Mr. Merrill Lew was unable to conduct the AARP Driving Course for Seniors which was scheduled for Sept. 18th and 19th. This will be rescheduled at another time. On Sept. 25th, the officers and bus driver, Sharon Seamons, will attend a day-lon- g meeting in Richfield covering instructions and rules for those driving a senior citizen vehicle. When the Six County Advisory Board on Aging and Human Services met in Eureka on Sept. 14th, Ross Bumgardner, director, told of how the funding for senior citizens is being cut. He said if cutting continued, centers would be basically on their own and some would even have to close. We hope this will not happen. The 70 people in attendance on that day were delighted with our center and thoroughly enjoyed the delicious meal served to them by Marian Seamons, Tarsula Lucas, Edna Jasper and Leah Towers.
