Show Permits still available Historical group plans to greet festival visitors The Tintic Historical Society is ready to greet visitors during this weekends festival, thanks to many volunteer hours over the last few weeks. Be sure to drop by the museum, both upstairs, City Hall, and the Depot, and enjoy the special displays. There are three beautiful bronze works of art created by Gary Prazen on loan to the Tintic Mining Museum. A scale model of a mine, you wont want to miss, a token collection featuring Eureka pieces, and class memorabilia from 1969. Be sure to pick up a new or hat in the Depot gift shop. There is a good selection of discounted shirts as well as the new ones. Nearly 200 family members, including Alice Fox, camped Friday and Saturday or some just drove up for the day. The weather cooperated, but there was no bonfires allowed, so they cooked on grills. A lovely program was presented on Friday evening. A delicious breakfast was furnished Saturday morning by the committee, the Alvey Family. After breakfast there was a big surprise, the Fish and Game Department brought over 200 catchable size fish and planted them in a small pond. The small children got first chance to catch the fish then everyone had their turn until most of the fish were caught. After that a water fight began, along with volleyball and all kinds of games for the children. At 3:00 that afternoon an auctioneer came and auctioned off articles furnished by other family members. Donna Alvey made a beautiful family tree quilt which was auctioned and bought by Clyde and Lorna Jasperson. After the auction, some played games, others visited, some family members stayed over till Sunday. It was reported by Alice that a wonderful time was had by all. Undersubscribed permits are still available to Utah hunters. The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources continues to accept mail-i- n applications for permits remaining after the drawing held on July 8. Hunters who have drawn an elk permit may still apply for a buck deer permit and visited the Pittock Mansion on visa versa. The trip back to Eureka included a stop at Cactus Petes in Jackpot, Nevada, where a delicious champagne brunch was enjoyed. Then the last rest stop was enjoyed at Wendover, where no one struck it rich - but we tried. Equipment!
