Entrance hymn was "Praise to the Lord". Scripture readings were taken from the book of the prophet Amos; the letter of Paul to the Ephesians; and the gospel according to Mark. Lector was Martin Fennell and assisting Father as Eucharistic Minister was Grace Bernini. In his homily, Father elaborated on the readings all of which were about missions. Amoss mission illustrates the common biblical notion that a mans call to prophesy is not based on personal whim but on Gods initiative. In his letter, Paul speaks of the mystery of Gods purpose for our salvation; and in his gospel, Mark speaks of the Twelve who were sent out to assume their share in the ministry of healing and preaching repentance. Recessional hymn was "Now Thank We All Our God". Next Sunday, July 17, the annual collection for "Religious Retirement. " METHODIST: Worship leader for the Sunday service at the United Methodist Church, was Sandy Evans. She was assisted by Allen Evans. Following the Lighting of the Candle by Allen, Sandy gave the Call to Praise and Prayer. "Count Your Many Blessings" was the opening prayer. Scripture readings were from the second book of Samuel; the letter of Paul to the Ephesians; and the gospel according to Mark. Topics of the Sunday Message were: The What Family; Oaks and Squashes; and Keeping the Tank Full. "Precious Lord, Take My Hand" was sung by the congregation and followed by the Offering and Doxology.
