Parish Notes The Notre Dame Club members and a few invited guests were entertained at a dinner party given by Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Ford and Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Wahl on Monday, August 2nd. The house was decorated with a profusion of yellow and orange marigold and other garden flowers. A color scheme of yellow and orange was carried out in the decoration and in the menu. The dining table held yellow and orange flowers in a basket tied with pale green maline. Orange candles in green candle holders were at either end of the table. Place cards were in an orange and yellow design. Covers were laid for the following: the Misses Lucy and Angeline Martinelli, Lina Ossana, Angeline Martelle, Corinda Perry, Edna Litizetti, Mary Dalpiaz, Lillian Vignetto, Antoinette Milano, Messrs. Barney Vietta, Joe and Charles Perry, C. Vigor, George Pagliosotti, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Litizetti, Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Ford and Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Wahl. After dinner the guests enjoyed dancing on the lawn. Miss Angeline Martelle entertained the Notre Dame Club at a picnic luncheon at the Riverside Park on Thursday, July 29th. Besides the club members, a few guests were present. Miss Lillian Vignetto was the motif and the Misses Angeline and Lucy Martinelli the hostesses at a prettily arranged slumber party given at their home on August 4th. The honored guest has been a visitor here on her way to California. The invited guests were members of the Notre Dame Club. JThe Carbon Council of the Knights of Columbus were the hosts at a dancing party given at the Liberty Theatre on August 5th. The members of the Notre Dame Club and the Altar Society were the honored guests. Luncheon, was served by members of the Council. The members of the Notre Dame Club and their friends made up a party which went on a watermelon picnic to Grandall Canyon on Thursday evening, August 19th. Communion. Castlegate, 9:00 a. m. The Monsignor was a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Gallegos who always have been proud to shelter the missionary priest while there. Six children were baptized on this trip and these good people are very earnest and sincere in their religious belief, and eagerly wait for the next opportunity they will have of having the Minister of God with them to say Mass. Monsignor Giovannoni drove to Vernal on July 25th, and on July 27th he celebrated Mass at St. Johns church. About thirty people were present and twenty-fiv- e went to Holy Communion. The devotion and faith of the Uintah Basin people were another joy for the Monsignor, who very freely gives his life and energy for the people committed to his care. On August 2nd, Monsignor Giovannoni was called to Vernal for Mrs. Smith of White Rocks, who was very ill at Vernal Hospital, where she underwent a very serious operation. At the present she is doing very nicely and is on the road to recovery. Monsignor Giovannoni left Price for Vernal on August 16th, and had Mass at St. Johns Church. The same good crowd of faithful parishioners was present and many of them made their Holy Communion. On August 17th little William, son of Marion and Myrtle Matthews of Vernal, was baptized by the Monsignor. The sponsors were Leo Murphy and Catherine Meagher. At the Notre Dame Church at Price the name of Paul Rocco was given to the son of Vincenzo Aiello and Jenny BAmbrisio of Sunnyside, August 15th. The sponsors were Guistino and Mario Rossi. On the same date and place the name of Lillian Luisa was given to the daughter of Steve and Mary e Jancia of Kenilworth. The sponsors were John and Sarah Aicaguerra. Pec-zuch- On August 15th, Monsignor Giovannoni went to Sunnyside to baptize Enrico Nicoli, son of Eugenio and Michellina Falsetti. Fortunato and Anna mo of Salt Lake were the sponsors. Ansel- - t On July 19th Monsignor Giovannoni drove to Monticello. These two hundred miles were well repaid by the exertion and loyalty of the Mexican people of that country. Over sixty Mexicans came made their Holy to Mass on the 20th and forty-fiv- e William Anthony, son of William and Catherine Reedman of Scofield, was baptized at the Notre Dame Church of Price; on August 16th. The sponsors were John Reedman and Frances Elorado of New York. |
