The funeral was largely The Promoters of the League of the Sacred Heart met at the home of Mrs. D. A. Smythe on August 4th. Mrs. Don Maguire presided. The minutes of the preceding meeting were read by Mrs. Garcia. A large number was in attendance. Monsignor Cushnahan asked the League for their support in securing funds for the decorating of the interior of the Church. Mrs. Maguire appointed Mrs. A. A. McBride general chairman of all committees. is now in progress. The work of Mrs. Smythe, assisted by Miss Edith Smythe and Miss Kathleen Smythe served delicious refreshments. re-decorati- ng The Rev. Emmett McDonnell, C.M., who has been the assistant at St. Josephs Church for the past year has been recalled by his superior from his leave of absence from the Congregation of the Missions and has been assigned as assistant pastor at St. Patricks Church, LaSalle, Illinois. Father McDonnell left Ogden on Sunday, August 15th, for a visit in California prior to assuming his new duties. His many friends in Ogden regret deeply his departure. The Rev. William A. Ruel, formerly assistant at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, Salt Lake City, has been appointed successor of Father McDonnell and took up his duties at St. Josephs on August 21st. St. Josephs Church is being thoroughly renovated and redecorated. It will add much to the beauty of tile interior of the Church when this work is Completed.
