I have deep roots in Uintah County my parents Lola and Theron Davis were both bom and raised In Vernal, my Grandparents Frank and Kate Johnson, and Hattie and Alfred Davis lived most of their Ives in Vernal as well. I am married to Deborah Ann Johnson Davis daughter of Dean and Clifta Johnson of Haeser whos families come from Lapoint and Deep Creek. Deborah and I have 8 children. I have a deep concern for the quality of life for my I as the County Surveyor would pledge my efforts to assisting in what ever manner I can to improve our county and would never intentionally do or seek anything that would degrade that quality of life or be an undue burden on the residents of the County. I feel that we need cooperation between the surveyors office and the other county officials. I have made an effort to know and discuss with our county officials the needs and future requirements of the county surveyors office. I am the owner of Rocky Mountain Surveyors, a small surveying firm in Vernal. I have built the business form the ground up, I know how to operate a business in a frugal cost effectiye manner. I wilt personalty do the work our county needs and I will accomplish it in the tame cost effective manner that I have been doing in my private business. I have the background expertise and ability to fill the position of County Surveyor. I pledge to the residents of Uintah County that If elected they can expect the same quality of honest concerned work that I have ' given to all of my clients in the past. I take pride in my reputation and will work to uphold it. ' Please give me your vote in the upcoming Primary Election in June. I feel I need to address an issue that has been made a major issue of this election. The question of full time verses part time in the county surveyors position. First: I DO NOT have a personal agenda to create a job r for myself. I have a job. good clientele and enjoy success in that job. Several months before the time to file i for election I was approached by the county commission who stated that Nelson Marshall, the current county surveyor, was not going to file for reelection. They said that they felt that a full time surveyor could f be used to accomplish the needs of the county. Over a period of several months we discussed the pros and of a lull time position. When they explained all that they wanted to accomplish I agreed that It would take a M time surveyor to accomplish the work in the time frame that they had in mind. I did not want to j. give up my present business but finally agreed that if they decided that if that was what they wanted and would dedare the position as a fell time position then I would accept it as such. Since that time the commit- - S' sfoners have changed their agenda, it has not been declared M time and I will not accept a foil time position if it it offered now. I will keep the office as a part time office if I am elected. Please don't confuse the fact that it was discussed with the fact that it has not and will not in the near future happen.
