After playi ng varsity vs. ju nior varsity teams last year Uintah River began 0NCE-IN- -. SPRING DPPORTUN playing all varsity ball in Region 16 this season. Uintah Rivers Male Warriors defeated JVSophomore type tea ms from Union, UintahandRangely this season, but they picked up their first Region 1 6 varsity win when they beat Altamont earlier last month. Coaching the Uintah River teams are Alan Ginn, Ron Wopsock, Rose Taveapont and Anne Cambridge. R. Wopsock and Taveapont are members of the Ute Tribe Business Committee, and Wopsock is pretty much teacher head coach, Ginns boss, but on the court Wopsock is an assistant coach, who focuses on defense. He (Wopsock ) separates the Business Committee work from basketball. We have a great coaching relationship, said Ginn. "We are a small school where we do everything. We have to do it all.
