He enlisted in the US Navy in 1943 and fought in World War II. He received many ribbons and stars for courage and bravery during battle. His greatest desire was to be a worthy disciple of Christ. Gary & Sherrie joined with the Basin Wagoneers, going on several wagon trips. He was loved and well respected by those he met.
