QoauoI JhomJtfA I) Just one word-Camer- a!" The first camera I ever owned was a little box shaped one that was just simply a Point and Shoot. There shutter werent any speeds or depth of fields to worry aboutasyoujust lined upyoursubject and fired away. I will never forget the day I took a photo of an abandoned school house in a miningcamp turned ghost town, Spring Canyon, Utah, which was located west of the city of Helper. The whole family, which included dad, Orlando; mom, Ann; and children, Orlie Jr, Aldon, Steven & Kaye Rachele, loaded up the old blue Mer-cui- y to visit the spooky town. ' Once we arrived, we checked out the railroad tracks, deserted houses and the school house. I posed my dad and brothers in front of the place of higher learning. While snappingaway I noticed a discarded notebook from days gone by, and picked it up. All of a sudden a security guard appeared a out of practically ghost and said, Don't Take Any Thing!". I returned the notebook back to the dusty ground. On the drive back I wondered if I had discovered some of the security guard's homework where he got an F" for y. Years later I purchased a camera nt phothat was the latest tography. You snapped a photo of lets say: grandpa and grandma, Salvatore and Rosina Rachele or maybe Guido Rachiele (the others rage-inna- - at Checkerboard left out their Groceiy or maybe the R Hill, which hod been conquered by Al, Kaye and Steve after they consumed pepperoni on homemade bread. After a few minutes the photo was there right in front of you instead of having to take it to Rexall Drug for developing. The only problem was a person had to apply some sticky stuff to preserve it. Often the great shots would curl up and fade away. I returned to a camera like my first one, and it was a super snapper until I took it on a river trip. I photographed the Green River plus all the trees and bushes along the way. I should have taken a pix of river trip fans tiying to keep warm while drinking coffee with bits of the grounds in like Butch Cassidy, the cup-ju- st Sundance Kid, Billy The Kid used to consume. We weren't running from the law. We were just tiying to survive acold, wet day. The camera died. It was all wet and never worked right after the river floating (tin. Finally, I purchased a real camera --a 35mm. About three months later it gained its first test when I attempted to take a photograph of New York Yankee baseball legend, Mickey Mantle. I said, Smile, and Mantle smarted off by saying, You better take off the lense cap first! I did as he instructed, and snapped away while not striking out on the job.Ihitahome run in 1975 with pixs of the Mick. Ive gone through many cameras and even survived a battle with a bucking bronc that stomped all over me out in the rodeo arena. Luckily, I escaped with just a few bruises, and a telephoto lense had to go see Dr. R. ,as in repair, who put it back together better than the Frankenstein mon- - Tabiona drops 6-- 5 contest By Aldon Rachele A Tabiona Tiger rally fell short as they lost 5 to Salt Lake Lutheran, Friday despite scoring two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. A person can see the photo right as he or she snaps it and you don't have to wait for the sticky stuff to dry, or a long mon th of wondering if the photo of a little niece with spaghetti sauce all over her face, will come out perfectly. Maybe I will take a photo of dad cooking spaghetti, and he can see it while eating the tasty stuff. I eqjoy usingthe new stuff, but I'm keeping my old cameras. My computer doesn't speak digital.
