Since 1980, she has gradually lost 156 pounds, of which 87 pounds count in TOPS club. Lynn says: "After regaining my weight in 1980, 1 decided that I was going to concentrate on learning to eat in a way that I could live with permanently. By 1999 ( thats 19 years), I had lost 88 pounds- - or an average of only a little over 4 pounds a year, but I figured that waa better than gaining pounds ayear. in 199, I decided it waa time to make some changes, and that year, I loet about 54 pounds, and waa a State Division Winner at the State Recognition Days last year. That was a great experience, and I lost another 14 pounds in 2000, which put me at my doctor prescribed weight for HOPS ( Keep ' Off Pounds Sensible), with a total loss of 166 pounds. "I am continuing to be very serious about eating only the very best foods and moat of the time, I can peacefully accept that fact this is the way I must eat, and very seldom do I feel tempted to indulge in some "goodie that isnt "good for me. I have also done a lot of walking-bot- h in the great outdoors andon my treadmill. "1 never really believed that 1 could do this, but I am beginning to believe in myself. Im not ready to say se that theres no way Ill gain it 1 realize that its always possible to revert to habits that would cause that to happen, but I am beginning to feel some hope that its possible for me to conquer this. Losing weight is hard work, and Ive done it so many times; this time, I want it to be permanent. I feel that I have changed my eating habits so slowly over so many years, that a lot of them are changed permanently. "I finally feel like a normal person, and now I can walk down the street without attractingthose knowing stared and unwanted remarks. I've found that even small changes made gradually over the yeara add up toabig difference with the helpofthe great people in TOPS Club. I am now praying for the strength to make these changes permanent.
