Hansen, an eyewitness to the alleged abuse attempted to stop Elder by threatening him with a but when he tried to coax the youngster to leave the home with him. Elder's wife called 911 and police arrived. When the story unfolded. Elder wascharged with sexual abuse of a child and the man who threatened him with the bat was not charged. He was supposed to pay bills from the account, but admitted to writing numerous checks for his personal gain. Several other felony forgery chargee were dropped in return for Ritchie's guilty plea to the three counts. Judge John Anderson sentenced Ritchie to three terms of 0 - 5 years in the Utah State Prison.
