Dye's class challenged Mrs. Salford's class at Roosevelt Middle School to gather food, which was taken to the Roosevelt Food Pantry. They picked up 24 pounds of food. The generous students were treated to root beer floats. 1 '8lfaZ4'. Cl IRISTMAS IN MEXICO- - Miss Ebcrhards and Mrs. Loertschcr's classes learned about Christmas customs in Mexico from Mrs. Morton. She taught them how to make poinscttas and read them a story about the legend of the poinsetta. If any parentguardian gives a schools' boundary area address to register a student, he she must provide at least two utility bills in his her name at the address given (telephone, electricity, gas - one of each.) Special education students are treated the same as regular educabasis. If a stution, on a dent is in need of a special education program located in a school other than the one the student is assigned to, than that need prevails. Transportation to and from the requested school is the responsibility of the parentguardian of the student, unless space is available on a bus without altering the bus route. Before students are admitted from an area, all signatures must be obtained on the boundary change form and all parties my be in agreement (sending principal, receiving principal and the pupil services director.) Forms may be obtained at any school in Uintah School District or at the District Office, 635 West 200 South, Vernal. All decisions will be based on a first-com- first-serv- e, e policy, depend-ingo- n class size availability. ClassCapacity recommended numbers are per class, if average of 21 to 1 (studentteacher) ratio is reached, the grade is declared full; K-r- 20-2- 3 4th-12t- recommended h: numbers are 23-2per class; if average of 23 to 1 (studentteacher) ratio is reached, the grade is declared full; Once a grade is declared open, and the school reaches 9091 of the 5 maximum recommended, tne principal may not accept new students except from the school's boundary areas. The Board of Education declared Vernal Middle School at capacity on April 25,2000. No applications for boundary changes will be accepted school year. for the 2001-200- 2 The Board of Education declared on May 23, 2000, all 7 , 8' and 9 grade students west of Asphalt Ridge will attend West Junior HighSchoolbeginningthe 2001-200- 1 school year. Students currently attending East Side Schools will be allowed to complete their education at the school they are currently enrolled. Any student residing in Uintah County and in grades 10-1-2 may attend Uintah High School. They challenged each other in a fund raiser to collect food to be taken to the Roosevelt Food Pantry. Mrs. Salfords class weighed in with 1 77 14 pounds of food and Mrs. Dye's class rang in with 24 1 pounds. The generous students were treated with rootbeer floats. MAKING CHRISTMAS CANDY- - Miss Bowcutt's 1 graders made candy as part of their Christmas Traditions unit. It will be a gift for their parents. r V,V - GOOD WILL-- Some students from Neola Elementary are admiring part of the food donated by students as a gift to others who are in need. They canned and packaged food was placed under the Christmas Tree by anyone w ho brought it to school. The donated food was then divided and delivered to selected families in the area.
