Eker Eric LsRos Eker, age 44, of Whiterocks, died April 12, 2000 in the Uintah Basin Medical Center. He was born Sept 27, 1955 in Roosevelt to frank LaRose and Mary Elisabeth Root Wyasket. He was adopted by Marlow and Nettie LaRose Eker. . He married Alberta Cornpeach Sept 5, 1990 in Vernal. Eric attended school and graduated from High school in Carlin, Nevada where he played football, basketball and baseball He etjoyed fishing and playing pool, he eijoyvd the outdoors and could live off the land if necessary. He had a good sense of humor and was known by his nieces and nephews as "Unde Buck. He was a man of all trades and liked to use his hands... He is survived by his wife. Alberta, Whiterocks; stepdaughter, Kayleena Navanick, of Whiterocks; parents, Mary E. and William Wyasket, Whiterocks; brothers and sisters, Cindy LaRose, Jerry Tapoof, Shelly Tapoof, Marlene Tapoof, Koralene Tapoof, and Arynn Wyasket, all Whiterocks; nephews and nieces, Gabriel Raylynn, Lon -- Tee-on, Wissiup, Shareen W. Copperfield, Chilean Wissiup, Toni Myore, Arrow W. Thomas Myore; aunts, uncles, Margie Ridley, Delores Arrowchis, Lupe Duncan, Bish LaRose, and Jim me La Rose, Jr. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank LaRose, sister, Sharon Wissiup and brothers, Perry Tapoof and Tilferd Tapoof and his adopted parents Marlow and Nettie LaRose Eker. McFarland, age 70, of Duchesne, AKA "The Every Ready Battery, left us on April 12, 2000. He was born January 29, 1930 in Tensleep, Wyoming to George and Dorothy Rose Steffens McFarlane. George was a wonderful mentor for his children and grandchildren, and was a very hard worker right up to the time that God said it was time to go while trying to put a new door on the house. He is survived by his loving wife of many rears, Esther, children, Kenneth L and Yollanda Bailey, Phyllis and Merlin Singleton, Wanda and Carl Heinlein, Renee and Ken Palmer, grandchildren, Kathy, Ken, Amanda, Amber, Trisha, Russell, Ryan and Ramie, and a great granddaughter, Alayna Rickell; brothers, Bob and Jean Schlichting, Dick and Mary Ann McFarlane. He was appointed to the position, April 13 dunngthe Duchesne County 2000-200- School Board meeting. He was one of three applicants to apply for the position. All three applicants were already employed at Union High. Ad She married Clair Christian teaching assignment will be filled by UBATC with someone who will teach UBATC and Union students. Brotherson has taught for 13 years with seven of those at Union. He previously was a teacher and basketball coach at A1 lament High SchooL Prior to hit assignment at Altamont, he taught in Idaho. As athletic director Brotherson will oversee the various programs and keep the sports schedules He will also help coach Union basketball teams. Delores Ruth Austin D. Austin Delores Ruth Austin, current resident of Roosevelt, Utah died April 17, 2000 in her sleep in Tooele, UT in the home of her friends, after a short battle with cancer. Delores was born Aprils, 1942 to Harry ami Dora Mathena Haycock in Price, UT. She was educated in Carbon County Schools and was married January 28, 1961 to William Payne Austin. She was a member of the LD5. Church. They had six children, all of whom were very much loved. She was devoted to her family and friends. She loved to crochet and enjoyed many other crafts. At about the age of eight ahe moved to Ferron where ahe grew up and graduated from South Emery High ScliooJ end later moved to the Uintah Basin. In the early 1930's she and Clair established the Larsen Bottling Co. which they operated for some thirty yeas. They later built the Western Hills Motel which she operated and later yet she worked as in the Sprouse Reitx store. aderk Dora was a gooa mom and grandma, much appreciated and loved by her children and grandchildren for her loving, caring demeanor. She is survived by sons and their spouses. Dr. Dale C. andJoni Larsen and R. Ford and Jennette Larsen, all Roosevelt; 8 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and a sister, Alice Fox, Orangeville, UT. She was preceded in death by a baby sister, Myrie. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 14 at the Don Bailey Larsen On March 24. 2000 our husband and father JERRY DALE BOREN pasaed awy after a valiant battle with cancer.
