Show L'lNT All BASIN STANDARD, Mar. Uintah Basin Regional History Fair winners The Uintah Basin Regional His- tory Fair was bald March 8 at Roosevelt Middle School. Students from Duchesne County in grade 4-- 12 presented history research projects, competing for the opportunity to advance to the state contest Winners were announced at an awards ceremony at the close of the day. This year students were encouraged to address the theme Turning Points in History: People, Ideas. Events. They explored important moments in the put that changed the course of events. Students competed according to their age group in four different categories: Historical papers, exhibits, performances, and documentary media. The Eastern Utah Regional History Fair wu presented by the Utah History Fair and the Duchesne School District. Mark Faircloth, Johnathen Umphenour, Bryan Umphenour, Bywater, Altamont Elementary, The 2 Annual Uintah Basin Career Awareness and Job Fair will ba held March 23. from noon - 6 p.m. at the Utah Sute University Uintah Basin Branch Campus, 987 East Lagoon Street in Roosevelt. The purpose of the Fair is to increase public awareness as to the careers that are available in our area, possible employment opportunities, and the education or experience that may be required to obtain a job in one of these fields. The employer currently signed up for booths include the Uintah Basin Medical Center, Amen net, Duchesne County School District, Kohl's Parts Plus, First' Security Bank, Uintah Rive Technology LLC, Stewarts Thrift way. Coast to Coast, Radio Shack, Sandstar Family Entertainment, Ashley Valley Medical Center, SOS Staffing Services, Second Nature Wilderness Program, and UBTA Communications. There will also be booths featured by Hill Air Fores Base, the Army, Navy, Air Force, Air National Guard, and the National Guard. The Uintah Basin Ana Applied Technology Center. Utah State University end Colorado Northwestern Community College will also have booths. The Career Awareness and Job Fair will also be hosting seminars and workshops at no charge. The seminars will feature topics for the Job Seeker on Resume Writing and Work Application Completion at 1:30 Skill at 2.30p.m., !.m.. Interviewing Techniques at 12.30 p.m., and Job Search on the Internet will be held at 130 p.m. and 3.30 p.m. There will also be a seminar for Small Business Development st 3:30 p.m. For Employer, a Customer Service Workshop will be given at 4 30 p.m. The Customer Service Workshop is a very dynamic presen-Utio-n and employers wanting to enhance customer service in their business place should plan on attending.
