Whst is a poor sports Ian to do? 1 guess if there is nothing better to do, a person could watch some of that pro rasslingstufT.lt used to be so easy. It was always the Bad vs. the "Good Guy-t-he Boy from Hometown, USA". Years ago, the hsro I believe was a guy with the name of Kenpy Layne or Payne or Mayna. He was a blond, blue eye boy from Utah, and mostly A one of those spike helmets from his World War I davs. My grandfather, Salvatore Raehele just loved the sport, and when told it was all dike, ha would say, with an Italian accent, "It no can ba fake-th- ey a hurt one another." Ho would get upset when after the hometown hero won his match, hia opponent would hit him with his spiked helmet. He would say, "Why does the referee let him do that!!! Now that there isn't a Communist Russia those mat guys that were the Commie Bad Guys, who I heard were actually from Canada, are out ofbusiness. When there was the conflict with Iran and Iraq the pro wrestling people had the Arabs as the bad guys, but they were quickly wiped out. It now appears the bad guys are now good-ol- d hometown boys, who insult muado bound women. The pumped up ladies promptly clobber these cowboy hat wearing guys. I noticed that none of these women ever take on a 500 pound, plus guy. -dad cant stand Mr 81 year-old the mala vs. female bouts, and I dont get to see an entire contest Oh rats-no-w if only Killer Kowalski or , ot s i King Kong Bundy would make a comeback. Sometimes when there is nothing to do 1 think about tha old Roosevelt High School gymnasium. It was a 3 the sire of the Union gym and waa built in 1914. On of my readers, Danny Michia, who lives in Texas, told me about a great shot Coach Burr Eldredge used to perform for his gym class students in 1965-6He would hit tha ball against tha wall and then his RJH students in ugly old white shorts would watch the circular object hit nothing but net. The gym was first used by Wasatch County high school students in Roosevelt. Later Duchesne County was formed. In one of tha stories that was written when the school first opened it was reported that a pool would bo added later. However, I have no knowledge of a pool where students could take a dip. In tha lata 1960s after being used by high school and junior high students for more than 50 years tha old building was torn down. What many people don't know is that the old gym floor and was reinstalled in the birek area of what ia now Reynold' Furniture. I don't know if it is still 6. there. In another item, I took a picture of the newly elected Roosevelt City Councilpersons last week, and I recall when the council room was located in the old city building, which is now housed by Home Health. Years ago Beverly Evans, who is now a Utah Senator, was holding a discussion, and while ah was talking a mouse ran down the middle of the room. I never said anything because I didn't want to cause a panic. It might have been "Mighty Mouse or a friend of "Andre The Giant", "The Crusher or "Baron VonRasks-fa-no- us for the Claw.
