Fw more information, etc. Call Paster Bill Roberts at 738-260- Medical investigators from the Salt Lake City VA Medical Center will reveal the results of recently published information on multiple sclerosis (MS) drug therapies and their implications for people with multiple sclerosis at a five public seminar April 2. The seminar will be held at 6 p.m. in the Multipurpose Center (Building No. 8) on the campus of the Salt Lake City VA Medical Center. Patients with MS from the intermountain west have helped researchers better understand multiple sclerosis drug therapy as participants in a national study. The study will be published March 23, in the journal Neurology. The study shows that glatiramer acetate for injection reduces the number of attacks and benefits the neurologic status of people with relapsing-remittin- g multiple sclerosis. The VA Medical Center, with the assistance ofthe University ofUtah, was among the eleven research sites nationwide for the multicenter study. John W. Rose, M.D., Assistant Director ofthe VA's Neurology Department will conduct the seminar for people with multiple sclerosis, their friends and family members. In addition to presenting information on the Neurology article, the seminar will also include discussion of other recent research on multiple sclerosis and what it means to todays patients. This truly is an exciting time in multiple sclerosis research. Almost every month we learn something new that helps us improve the quality of life for people with this challenging disease," said Dr. Rose.
