April 14 Meeting called to begin push for museum in county The Duchesne County Commission has called a special meeting to begin efforts, to build a.mugaum cultural center in Duchesne. Many a need for such a facility and an organisation to collect artifacts and historical data for display, explained Commission Chairman Larry Ross. Such a facility would preserve our heritage and display before the public the beauty and cultural values of the area," Ross said. A meeting will be held at the Crossroads Center in Roosevelt on Tuesday, April 14 at 7:30 p.m. for anyone interested in discussing the creation of a museum in the county. They will be presenting Choices a political discussion series beginning Thursday, April 16 at 7 p.m. What is Choices" it is a program sponsored by the state humanities council. This program is in partnership with libraries throughout the nation to allow average citizens to voice their opinion and have an impact on issues of national policy. The information gathered from these discussions is then relayed to lawmakers in Washington. State Representative Beverly Evans will be the presenter. Evans has been involved in state politics for 12 years and is currently running for State Senate. In addition to politics she has a teaching background that goes back 30 years. It isnt often that an insider in politics is available to give their insights. So be sure not to miss out on this opportunity. The topics to be discussed in this series include China and the Middle East. Both of these areas of the world are having a big impact on our national politics.
