Jane Thompson introduced Carol Henley who was honored as the clubs Women of Achievement" Carol is a teacher of Art and Special Ed. at Union High School. She is with her husband of the Lazy H Ait Gallery. Carol has been recognized as one of the most unique artists in the state. They plan on enlarging their art gallery so classes can be taught and art supplies sold. Carol will be honored in Salt Lake at a later monthly er date. The LSCA Funds which were applied for by the itaff and board in October 1995 have been eliminated. Without this funding it hae been difficult to get any other funding. Another challenge that is facing the staff and board ie the limited number of eourcea for funding library construction. There ie a hill before the Utah State Legislature (HB 85) that would appropriate $2 million - $3 million lor library construction projects. Competition for this money will be stiff as there are 25-3- 0 library construction projects being planned throughout Utah. Library Director, Lorie Evans, said, "This project will become a reality. It just isnt going to happen as soon as planned." A change in policy was made in the February 14 meeting of the Roosevelt County Library Board.
