Wilcken, 78, died after being taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. Wilcken was ejected from his Ford Ranger after he was hit by a pickup truck pulling a horse trailer. Investigating UHP trooper Troy Marx, said Wilcken, who was southbound on State Street and Highway 40, had stopped at the stop sign and apparently failed to see oncoming traffic when he pulled onto the highway and was struck on the passenger side by an eastbound pickup, driven by Nikki Critton, 20, of Vernal.
