Health hazards faced by the working woman Through both choice and necessity, women increasingly seek to compete effectively in the workplace. Because of the trend, more women face increasing dangers from workplace hazards than ever before. Coupled with this trend, factors also two d ability to bear children, and the fact that on an average women are smaller and less muscular than men. Present employers and employees alike have difficult choices to make among conflicting riskB, duties, and needs. Employers are caught in a quandary: How does a corporation balance its business necessity of maintaining a safe workplace with its duty to comply with federal and state EEO statutes? Many corporations and their attorneys are trying to figure out whether women can be excluded from particular employment opportunities because of lesser strength, agility, height, or weight. As we head into the 1990s, the issue of safety and health of women will be a paramount concern. Currently in the State of Utah 60 of working age women (16 years of age and older) are in the workforce. The speed symbol indicates the maximum speed at which the tire can cany the maximum load (also stamped on the side wall of the tire), under specified service conditions. The I Mindy Winkler 'S' rating indicates speeds up to 1 12 MPH. The T rating indicates speeds up to 1 18 MPH. The 'H' rating indicates speeds up to 130 MPH. The V' rating indicates speeds up to 149 MPH. In the U.S. speeds Indicated by the rating system are not as important as what the rating mean in regard to handling and performance. A higher speed rated tire will handle better than tires rated for lower speeds. However it will also wear faster, ride rougher and have less snow traction than a tire rated for lower speeds. When selling a tire, we like to talk to the customer about their driving habits, that way we can fit the vehicle with the tire that will best fit their needs.
