Do not confuse it with the Brazen Altar which sits in the courtyard of the tabernacle. The Brazen Altar speaks of Christa death and his atoning work for our sins. The Golden Altar speaks of Christs resurrection and the intercessory work he does for all believers (Romans 8:34). Upon the Brazen Altar were animal sacrifices and food and drink offerings, but upon the Golden Altar only incense was burnt, and that twice a day by the high priest Revelation 5:8 and 8:3-identify the prayers of saints with incense. Drawing from this, we need only a high priest and an altar to complete the picture. Hebrews 13:15, supplies the altar i this fashion; by Him, (Jesus Christ) therefore, let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. Hebrews 8:1, leaves no room far doubt concerning Jesus as our high priest. How fortunate we are that God hears our prayers because of our high priest, Jesus Christ No wonder King David prophesied i Psalm 1412, Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. a Workday at October 5 will be the church with many tasks to be accomplished both inside and out as we continue to work toward completion of the study center.
