Melissa won second place and a Mue rosette in the 0 year old fitting and showing competition. John Jenkins finished in the star round with his hog; also taking third place in showing. The Faus-ptt- s also participated; Luke had a pig; David, a pig and lamb; and Shawn, a pig, all brought home blue ribbons. Trent Cook, Tiffany and Trinity Bird showed their hogs. Trinitys placed 6th in the hog division. All members of the Udell and Ruth Winkler family; Howard, Maxine, Phillip and Nathan Todd; Rush, Shana Lee, Kurt, Cay and Samantha Loertscher; and Pauline Winkler met Amy Winkler, daughter of Udell and Ruth, at the Salt Lake Airport Friday, August 30, as she left for her LDS mission in Taiwan. Others from the Salt Lake area who joined the group were Michael Todd, Bernard Duke, Richard, Debbie Hoyt and children; her roommate Christine and Nancy Cardall. Amys visa hadnt come when her group left the previous day so she traveled alone the following day when the visa finally arrived. Kurt Loertscher has been rioting many relatives in the Midway and 9-1- 4-- H 4-- 1 Salt Lake area the past week. He was present at the airport as Lisa loertscher, granddaughter of Joseph and Annie M. Loertscher, returned home from her LDS Australian mission. Janet Champion, CaralAnn and Am Wiley, and Matt and Shelly Church came to visit Garda Seeley. They rioted with the Kirk and Don Seeley families where they attended church in Roosevelt Jeri Sue Champion has returned to college. Young Jace Jenkins had a serious injury to his finger on Sunday, August 1, when he got his hand and arm caught in the automatic grain auger located at the Double "J" dairy barn. His father and grandfather had to dismantle the auger hi order to disengage Jacobs hand and arm. After emergency treatment at the Duchesne County Hospital. Jessies wife, Althea Jensen Gray, is a former resident of the Uintah Basin. Elmer Ekina is hams from the hospital and is recovering from injuries received in an automobile accident. Larina Canoll was baptised last week by her grandfather Carroll and confirmed by her Grandfather McBride in the Lapoint ward. Jarod Carroll was ordained a priest the same day. The McBrides are from Santa Clara. Della, Gene and Beulah Nyberg went to Park City where they attended the wedding and reception of Dellas son, Allan. Tha new Mrs. Nyberg is former Kristy Ford. Kathy Mecham and son, Corey, have moved into the house owned by Cliff and Sharon Hackford. Kathys husband. Jack, will be commuting from Heber on fSfiffiffr - Nellie Lang had her daughter, Donna La Munyon of Logan spending a couple days visiting with her. George and Verl Nelson have been spending time in Gurney, Wis., with their daughter Rita Adamarich and family. They write that George has been in the hospital far three days. Von and Deloris Pearson of Salt Lake spent time with hie sister, Nellie lang, he attended a school reunion and the fair. Della Tumbow of Heber, was out during the fair and spent time with her brother, Lloyd Remund and family. The Herb Fieth family reunion was held on Aug. 17 at Roy Park. Thera were 65 family members present Boyd Fieth and Enid Wagstaff were in charge of the reunion this year. Maxine Burdick traveled to Rock Creek to spend time with her daughter, Barbara and Duane Men weather. Tom Abplanalp is out of the hospital after haring heart surgery. He is staying with his daughter in Salt Lake. Rose Anna Bench had her two grandsons and a granddaughter pending time with her. They an the children of Kenneth and Paula Bench of Grandjunction, Colo. Jennie Merkley went with her brother, Roy Chatwin, of Oram to las Vegas, Nev, where Jennie's son, Butch Jones, bout his mother another red car. Jennies daughter, Jana Sweat, of Heber, also traveled with them. Maxine Taylor left August 24, to go to Circleville and visit her sister Vi Wardle. Pauline Herrera had her daughter, Carmen Michelles, fly in from VA. She spent a week with her mother and other family members. Penny Allen reports that her mother is recovering from surgery he had in California three weeks ago. Chet Henderson is home from the VA hospital, after haring surgery. Inez Swaaey had her daughter, Ardele Gilispie of N. Salt Lake visiting with her. Rula Smith, who is in the Cedar Crest Center, had a birthday an Sept. 1. Jerry Merkley was put back in the hospital on Monday of last week. Keith and Rhonda Behunin and children, Joshua, Jeremy and Tiara LeShay visited with their mother and grandmother, Marion A Behunin last week. Ryan and Terry Larsen of Roosevelt are proud parents of a baby giri born on August 27. They named her Chelsie Ray. She weighed 5 lbs., 6 oz. and was 19 in. She joins her brother, Scott and her sister, Misty. Grandparents are Jay Larsen of Ballard and Eula Von Larsen of Roosevelt and Lorna Barker. Great grandmother is Edith Gardner also of Roosevelt Marvin and Rome Bozarth recently returned from a nine day vacation. They visited Ft Bridger and toured through the Wyoming Frontier Prison. The prison is located in Rawlings, Wyoming and was built in 1888, and closed in 1987. Other points of interest were Brawns Park, Jarvis Ranch, the Swinging Bridge, Lodore Hall Cemetery and Irish Canyon. They celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary in Craig, Colorado where they were treated to complimentary dinners at Village Inn by the management there. Byron Tomlinson is recuperating from burns suffered last Thursday morning in an accident on his job. He was treated in the Duchesne County Hospital. JaNiel Gardner spent the day visiting with her sister, Millie Etheredge last Friday in Roosevelt. Beverly, Ronnie and Clay Hansen traveled to Salt Lake City to place entries in the Utah State Fair. Ronnie entered items in the Fine Arts and Creative Arts and Clay entered some photography exhibits. Sherrie Uzelac, Bountiful, visited with Millie Etheredge and Beverly Hansen last week in Roosevelt. Sherrie is employed by Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake and was a classmate at the University Hospital when she and Beverly were in training there. Carl and Merle Anderton, sisters Fawn Hall and Nola and Max Nelson met at the Park for a picnic and virit. Weekend company at Nelsons were their son, Larry, from Ogden, and grandson, Lyn Nelson, Clinton; and Karen Brown, Price. The Montwell reunion was enjoyed by those attending, with a lot to eat and reminiscing. Randy Nelson left Tuesday for the Salt Lake airport where he caught his flight for Canada to attend a wedding for a friend. Delmar and Barbara Hamblin traveled to Salt Lake over Labor Day to pick up their daughter, Tamara, from the airport Tamara was one of the group of 26 students going to see Germany for seven weeks of studying, through BYU.
