Show ) Page 12 - December 25. 1990 UitaHsih ISSaoln Standard Riser scores 18 Union Cougars rope Altamont Longhorns By Aldon Rachele Union High Schools basketball team improved their record to 3 7 with a win over school, 5-- 114-5- 1-- Altamont, in Roosevelt, Wednesday, December 19. Union is a 3-- school. Tai Riser led Union with 18 paints while playing only one quarter. Ths Cougars had seven players in double figures snd all Union athletes gained playing time in the gams. Unions coach is Dan Lunt Altamont High School has a youhg team this year with no seniors and seven juniors, four sophomores and freshmen. The coach is David Brotherson. Union returns to basketball action with a game on the road against team, Timpview in Provo, Friday, December 28. The Cougars also have two away games against Bear River, January 2 and Lehi, January 4. The next hone game for the Cougars will be against Uintah High School, January 9. Unions girls will havs home games against Moffat County out of Craig, Colorado, January 5 and Lehi, January , will host Morgan, December 28 and Rangely, January 4. The Duchesne girls will host East Carbon, January 3. Tsbiona will battle Green River on the road, January 4 and Monti-cello, January 5. Eagles drop game to region champion Duchesnsh Lajy Eagles bead 1990 Region 11 champions, Rowland HaQ, Tuesday, December 18 and gave the team a good battle, but ended up lasing to the Sals Lake City team. A game scheduled against North Summit, Thursday, December was cancsled becauss of bad weatbsr. A Duchesne wrestling match against East Carbon, Thursday, was also cancsled due to bad weather. It has bean rescheduled for January 9. The Eagles defeated Green River, Utah, die week before. Duchesne has defeated Green River, twice, this year. Duchesne High School played a boys game against Green River at the College ofEastern Utah in Price, Friday, December 21 unless bad weather forced a turnover of the scheduled date. 15.
