V .- Brenda and Joel Arevalo, Sandy, spent a few days with Grandparents, the Vaun Lotts, and Ryon, Amber Lott. Verl and George Nelson just returned home after spending six weeks in Mesa, Arix., with Georges brother, Ervin, and Luella Nelson, where they had both had surgery. Lanette and Florin Owens and two children spent a couple of days visiting with her folks, Ronald and Carole Liddell, The kids are moving from Cheyenne to Cedar City where he will be working. Laura Mae Timothy spent two days in Ioka with her daughter, Charlette, and Bert Ames and family for Christmas. Kipp and Helen Merkley had their family all home for their Dec. 27. Christmas They all enjoyed dinner together. Christine Nation and her Phebie Giles, met in Salt Lake Dec. 21, where they flew to Phoenix to visit with Don and Wilma Beeler, Bettie Fitzgerald, and Scott and Chaiyl Vowels and children. Then they spent Christmas in Sadonia, Ariz., visiting with Fhebies son, Fred Giles, and family. They flew back to Salt Lake Dec. 29. Dave and Ruby Thomas had a family Christmas dinner Sunday Dec. 25. Those present were Elmer and Mary Thomas, Dennie and Sherrie Thomas and family, the Harold Gees, and Marys daughter, Patsy and Dale Tewalt, Brown, Price, was also present Colene Nelson, daughter of Christine Nation, ia employed at the Ceasars Palace in Las Vegas. Glen Remund was taken by ambulance Wednesday, Dec. 28, to the Duchesne County Hospital. He will be spending several days while he is having antibiotics. Word was received Thursday that Walter LeFevre, Tabiona, had died; His funeral was held last week in Tabiona. Jerry and Jennie Merkley were in Vernal a week ago where they visited with Jerry 'a cousin, Morgan Merkley, and Abe Hatch. Both have been very ill. Jennie Merkleys two sons, Marvin and Butch Jones, were both home for the night They came from Las Vegas. ;$: '0ytm :?BNe wpl by Marion VM-72? A ' v. -T sister-in-la- Harold Gee went to the St. Marks Hospital again Jan. 4 where he had surgery on his left hand again. He will spend several days in the hospital, then they will spend a few days in Murray with his brother, Max and Esther Gee. Harold Spencer met some of his brothers and sisters in Salt Lake where they drove together to Missoula, Mont., to attend funeral services for their sister. Pam and Dean and Anna Peterson entertained at their home Christmas Eve, at their annual affair. Present were Pams folks, Bill and Veva Tollefson, Ron and Mary Jeanne Tollefson and family, Scott and Leslie Peterson and baby girl. Vernal, Bruce and Darlene Tollefson and Darrin Brown, Price. They all returned again on Christmas Day for dinner. Ralph and Thelda Halstead visited their daughter's family, Neil and Erma Jean, in Pleasant Valley. Others present were Randy and Charolette Bond and two children from Evanston, and Lynn and Terrie Moon, Roosevelt George and Verl Nelson were in Ogden last week where Verl had eye surgery. They spent some time with their two sons in Clearfield. Niels and Norma Earl had their annual Christmas Eve party at their home. They had all of their family home, and eqjoyed the evening. Kirk and Sandra Swaseys wedding reception, held at the DUP building the evening of Dec. 21, was a big success, even though the weather was bad. Kirk will be going back to Tennessee where he will be in camp for the navy. A large crowd attended funeral services in Roosevelt Dec. 28 for Emma Ross. She was buried in the Tridell Cemetery. Also son Tom, Salt lake, Errol and Joanne Nelson and four boys spent several days here. Max Nelson and daughter, Penny Shaw, were Price visitors one day the past week to exchange Christmas. Billie Miller and friend, Bruce Bowen, visited her dad. Bill Nelson over New Years. A. D. Shaw, West Valley, visited his mother, Estella Shaw, several ' days. He also visited the Max Nelsons. Hazel Jensen and Clell Woodward motored to Provo taking her son, Denny, back to school. Dennis and Desiree and children, Daniel and Dovey, Provo, came for New Years with his mother, Penny Shaw and family, and his grandparents. Bud and Vivian Anderton were in Salt Lake Monday and visited their aunt, lone Dye, a patient in the Cottonwood Hoapital. Marley and Jean Hamblin have gone to St. George for the cold weather. Their grandson, Loren and Lorena Anderton and family, are staying at their home taking care while they are away. Other children to visit Bob and Penny Shaw, along with their son, Tom, from Salt Lake, were Joe and Kathy Galvin and two chili dren, Redwood, Calif.; Robert and . er Craig. Montwell Merle Fausett spent the holidays with Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Fowers in Ogden. While there she had a stroke and is in the McKay Dee Hospital. Relatives and friends can send letters and cards to her in care of Wayne Fowers, 2195 W. 1800 So., Ogden. Dortha Ivie received word last week of the passing of her sister, Mrs. Paul (Gladys) Stoker. Services were held in Salt Lake, Jan. 10. Verl and LaRae Murphy spent the New Year's holiday in Logan visiting their son and family, Verl Jr. On the way back they visited with Michael and family in Ogden; Jane Casper and family, and Beth Judd, Salt Lake. Mrs. Judd is Mrs. Murphys mother. During Myton City Council Thursday night, a hearing was held for the CDBG projects. Residents giving comments were Bill Pullin, Ronnie Mieure and Loma Mead. January 19 more input will be given. Special guests were Deseret News reporters, Gary McKellar and Susan Lyman. Mayor Cooper presented her goals for 1989. A few of the goals are to paint and fix the ceiling in the shelter, install outside lights at the community center, wiring for electricity and fixtures for the concession stand at the ballpark. g housing Implement and rehabilitation program within the city. He stayed in Kaysville overnight Hamblins held their annual Christmas party of the Rieta and late James Hamblin families, Dec. 15, at the Moon Lake Building. Alden and Bene Hamblin, Vernal, were the hosts this year. A big group enjoyed an evening of eats, games, crafts and dancing; along with white elephant gifts. Harry and Fontella Tomlinson spent Christmas Eve and day in Vernal at the home of a daughter, at Deans LDS choir. Harry and Fontella Tomlinson were in Salt Lake Dec. 27 for Harrys checkup with his doctor, and spent the night with a son, Jerry and Marie and family. The As will three tapes introduce new leaders to scouting and train them in the basics of working as scout leaders. Each tape introduces viewers to a different level of scouting. The first tape, "Meet the Cub Scouts will air on KUED Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 10:85 p jn. The next two tapes, "Meet the Boy Scouts, and "Meet the Explorer Scouts, will air Wednesday and Thursday, Jan. 11 and 12, at 10:35 pm. According to Lyman Gifford of the Great Salt Lake Council, individuals or groups are encouraged to tape the programs to be used as an effective training tool in their areas.
