V The children of Florence Butt Plataky will pay her honor on her 80th birthday with an opanhouaa on Saturday, August 27, from 5 p.m. at tha Senior Citizens Building in American Fork. Plataky lived in Mountain Hone for a number of years, running a sheep and cattle ranch with her husband, JesseNewbom Butt, and son Chad. She also served as a correspondent for the Uintah Basin Standard, covering the Tal-ageMountain Home area. When her husband died, shemovedaway from the area. In 1968, she married Abraham Plataky in Provo, and they have made their home in American Fork. She fulfilled a lifelong dream when she graduated from high school at the age of 74. She wasbora in New Zeal and, and has returned three times to visit with the Maori people she loves, but has always been happy to return to her home of choice, Utah.
