Class time schedules will be made up after registration in order to accommodate, those students wanting to take more than one class. Summer School is sponsored by Duchesne Community Schools this year, therefore, a minimum of 10 students per class is required in order to meet expenses. Diana Kuykendall and Rosalie Seamons are the instructors. Fee for each class is $10. Registration is Wednesday, June 10, 5 p.m. at the Cliff Mickelson Center. For more information, please call Linda Strickland, Math, reading and creative writing classes are being offered in Ducheane beginning Monday morning, June 15. This is an excellent chance for your child to increase or just retain hisher skill level during the summer. Students just completing grades K through 5 are eligible for the Math and reading classes. Creative writing class will accept those students completing 3rd through 5th grades. Classes will last one hour each and be held Monday 5-- 738-203- 1. Deana Evans is student of year The Duchesne County Farm Bureau has selected Deana Evans as its student of the year. She was selected on the basis of scholastics, leadership, citizenship and extracurricular activities, as well as an essay on the Constitution. Evans graduated from Altamont High School as salutatorian. She also served as studentbody and varsity cheerleader 2 years. She was the Sterling Scholar for speech and drama, and won straight superiors in the state drama meet. She is the currently reigning Homecoming Queen for vice-preside- 1986. She had a cumulative grade point average of 3.99. All these activities were counted and given a point value, and then the students of the month were required to write a two page essay entitled, What is my responsibility in preserving the Constitution of the United States? Evans is currently working as a in Maryland, but will attend nanny ' Utah State University in the fall on n a scholarship, both from USU and from the Sterling Scholar fundation. Dog classes scheduled June 10 Obedience classes, for dogs and their owners, will begin next Wednesday, June 10, at 8 p.m. The instructor for the class, Peggy Ann Strupp, has been training and showing dogs in AKC Obedience Trials for eight years. Strupp states Deana Evans is Student of the Year. She scored the highest of all the students in the Farm Bureau Student of the Month competition which includes academic, leadership, and extracurricular achievements as well as an essay on the Constitution. citizenship was honored with a plaque and belt buckle from local high scout authorities for his Eagle Scout Project. According to Dr. Gerry Hansen, program director, it is a registered nursing program for those with associate degrees or hospital certificates.
