A special day honoHng all senior citizens has also been scheduled September 14, 1983. This day has been declared Senior Citizens Day at the Utah State Fair. AD seniors, age 62 and over, will be admitted free of charge. A special Senior Citizens $ Program is scheduled in the grandstand beginning at 2:00 p.m. Entertainment will include Dave Merrifield, Helicopter Trapeze Act; Jim Herrington, One Man Band; and Bill Gnadt, Juggler. Seniors are also welcome to attend all other Fair activities scheduled for this day. Governor Scott M. Matheson has proclaimed Sunday, September 11, 1983 aa Grandparents Day in Utah. This coincides with National Grandparents Day which has been established by Congress as the first Sunday following Labor Day. In his proclamation. Governor Matheson calls attention to the fact that, honored-firs- t grandparents are twice in having children of their own and secondly, in sharing the love and affection of their childrens children" and to the fact that "grandparents play a vital role in the life of their ndchildren as they are looked to guidance and strength. Governor Matheson urges everyone, especially youngsters, to observe Grandparents Day by remembering their grandparents, by visiting them, and by thinking about them every day.
