Salient prints: The rebuilding of China depends upon education; Every citizen has the right to receive and the responsibility to accept education. Furthermore, every citizen has twin rights and twin responsibilities-th- e right to education aiul the right to labor; China intends to enhance education through exchange of information with other countries. Counterpart visit with Dr. Alexander Vladeslovlef, Knowledge Society, Moscow. Salient points: Soviet Union education system has three education (through 10th grade); voeationalteehnieal (poet-lOt- h grade); specialized (technical - three years, university - five years); Foreign language study fa compulsory; All teachers are required to spend six months every five years in "refresher sonety." Neither country has a drug problem with the younger generation, and one is safe on their streets at any hour.. The Soviet Union covers one sixth of the earth's land mass, and by the year 2000 there will be over one billion Chinese on this planet. The United States has a great deal to contribute to these peoples. And we would be foolish to adopt a posture that assumes we can learn nothing from them.
