MILES Ming, Joyce Rossiter, Peggy Capwell and Chico Capwell were the winners of the adult saddle log award program for the 9. 1982 Uinton Basin Standard 21 horse show winners. They competed at horse shows throughout the year. HORSE SHOW WINNERS! -- Par Griggs, Don Linda Mike Barneck and Barneck, Griggs, S. Jean Kenney were local Appaloosa Club local Appaloosa Club. Winners of the Youth saddle log program were Allan Ming, Julie Ming, Jennifer Capwell and. Kimberly Capwell. Roger December Appaloosa Club honors The Uintah Basin Appaloosa Horse Club had their 1982 year end award banquet last week at the Frontier Grill. The awards were presented to members by 1982 President Merrill Chico,, Capwell and represented one full year of work and activities by each member. Activities this year included seven trail rides, a horse clinic, fun show, trail class. National approved Appaloosa show, chili supper with square dancing and movies, stallion auction, two day trail ride with steak fry and participation in six parades. The club i also operates the concession stand at the chariot races and flat saddle races . at Petroleum Downs. This year, for the first time, they donated a fifty dollar trophy to the high point performance horse in the Duchesne County Fair Horse Show and also sponsored the Duchesne County Fair Rodeo. Spectators at the Rodeo may remember seeing the color bearers riding Appaloosa horses as well as the arena judge riding an Appaloosa, also one of the Queens. Awards for showing in Appaloosa shows were as follows; 1982 stallions Coots Light owned by S. Jean-Kenney, Rangely, Colo.; 1981 Stallions, Jokers Goldstrike owned by " Appaloosa Club members awarded Zola Freston and Dorrant Freston the outstanding ' .member award for doing the most to promote the Appaloosa horse. Dorrant and Zola Freston received the outstanding member award for doing the most to promote the Appaloosa horse.
