Bazaar to be; held Nov. 3 Mr. and Mrs. Bert Angus, Vernal, announce the engagement and ' forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Annette, to Dirk Labrum, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Labrum, Roosevelt . The couple plan to be married Nov. 9 in the Ashley Stake Center, Vernal. Miss Angus attended Woods Cross high school. She is presently employed at the Radio Shack in Vernal. ; Mr. Labrum , ia a graduate of Union high school. He is manager of the Radio Shack in Vernal. A reception will be held at the Ashley Stake ' r. t t V-- - Altrus club donates books The Altrus Club recently donated several new books to the Roosevelt City library. This is a yearly project for the Altrus Club. The books were presented by the 1978-7- 9 officers and book committee members. The Altrus club officers are: Beth Duke, president: Deane Jennings, vice president; and Lynn The book Benson; secretary-treasurecommittee was composed of Nedra Nickell, chairman; Ida Harrison and Joyce Dennis. Children's books presented to the library were: The Way to Start the Day." "Freight Train." "Girl Who Loved Wild Horses," "The Girl Who Had No Name," "The Great Gilly Hopkins, "The Wisting Game," and The Third Eye." Adult selections presented are: "Stories of John Cheevers, "Best Friend," "To Parents with Love," "The Untold Story," "One Time I Saw Morning Come Home," "Such a Life, "You don't Have to be in Whos Who Hello to Know What's What, Darkness," The Windwalker," and "Charlton Heston, The Actors Life Socialette club reviews activities Symphpny presents Socialette Club started the year fashion show and luncheon the Vocational Center. Club and guests enjoyed the off with a June 23 at members afternoon. : In conjunction with celebrating the 50th anniversary of his debut on this continent the Utah Symphony will present violinist Nathan Milstein in recital Friday, Oct 19, 8 p.ni., in Symphony Hall. The club members were successful with the concession stand at UBIC. Everyone participated in the work and fun. Members also helped build a float for the UBIC parade and took second place. I Sept 13 was the opening social for club members, old and new, and tkieir partners. It was a barbecue held at the Moon Lake power plant The Sept 27 club meeting was held at the junior high.1 A film was shown on the Junior Miss Pageant Plans and ideas for the pageant were discussed. Pictures were taken of officers and club members. . 2-- Milstein r. 1956-1976- The Mental Retardation Association of Utah will be hosting their 81st annual Bazaar Saturday, Nov. 8, from 9 p.m. at the National Guard Armory on Sunnyside Avenue in Salt Lake. Admission is free and the public is cordially invited to attend. The goal is set at $36,000. "It will go to help the state's 38,000 mentally ; retarded citizens, said Elaine S. executive director of the Sharp, ' Mental Retardation Association of Utah. "We have not yet reached our goal, but certainly $1 per mentally retarded person is not too much to ask," she continued. ' "Under the Big Top is the theme of circus this years event The three-rin- g will feature booths selling handmade boutique items, quilts, colorful treasures and trinkets, books, g and lots of scrumptious food. There will be a variety of entertainment "under the big top. ' Various groups throughout the state will perform. Plan to bring your entire family and have a great time doing some shopping and eating tasty E ome cooked treats. Numerous prizes will be awarded the evening of the bazaar at 8 p.m. The grand prize is a 1980 Ford pinto pony. Mr. Milstein has performed several times with Maurice Abravanel and the Utah Symphony. Now, under the auspices of the Utah Symphony, he will present the first recital in the new Symphony Hall. Tickets for the Milstein recital are available at the Utah Symphony Box Office, 123 West South Temple (weekdays), located through the northwest entrance to Symphony Hall.
