Mrs. Leone Murillo, who has been visiting her parents Mr. and Mrs. Newt Miller the past two weeks, left for her home at Sussnville, Calif., Saturday Mrs. Orvil (Rhoda) Rudy is confined to St Marks Hospital in Salt Lake City where she in recovering from surgery. A large group of members of both Roosevelt Stakes attended sessions at the Provo Temple last week. Mayor and Mrs. Ralph Shields attended the production, "The Music Man", for which their daughter Colleen Gardner was choreographer, at Weber State College, Saturday evening. They were overnight guests of the Gardners. The following group spent a week in the San Francisco, area: Pres. and Mrs. Arvin Bellon, Dr. and Mrs. Philip Condie, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Alexander, Kay Madsen and Diane Buxton. They visited the Oakland Temple, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Heaton, who are serving an LDS mission that area, and a former Roosevelt bishop, Horace Ritchie. Utah state program to immunize groups against influenza has received a grant of $41,000 from the Public Health Service's Center for Disease Control in Atlanta. Part of the grant will consist of A high-ris- k vaccine worth $21,191. The vaccine, distributed to health districts throughout the state, will be given to high-ris- k groups such- as senior citizens, those with physical handicaps, and those with conditions or diseases which lower their resistance to infection. The vaccination program starts next week. The ladies at Roosevelt elementary sported colorful checked aprons made for them by Fontella Tomlinson. They honored different faculty and staff members each day. On Wednesday, the faculty and staff, in their turn, honored the workers, presenting them with corsages. The Neola staff and studentbody presented the cooks with dishes filled with candy. The individual classes wrote letters and made posters to thank the cooks for their efforts all year. During the week there were 171 visitors at Neola school for lunch. Elementary students invited their parents and other guests to join them for lunch during the week and the response was astounding. Over 150 extra lunches were served at Neola elementary and Myton elementary, and other schools reported comparable numbers the biggest day was Wednesday, when the lunch menu included oven fried chicken and all the trimmings. At Neola elementary, the lunch room sported decorations to match the menus, designed and executed by the students.
